Our mission
Achieve Your Impossible
Swift Movement Studio is a Cincinnati parkour gym and movement training facility for kids, teens, and adults. Coaches scale each challenge to the student. Classes in parkour, acrobatics, fitness, and mobility build confidence, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
What we believe
We’re Capable of More Than We Believe
A challenge looks different once you know how to break it down. In parkour, students assess what is in front of them, try one part, make an adjustment, and keep going.
Each new skill makes the next difficult thing feel a little more possible.
- See the challenge
- Break it into smaller steps
- Make an attempt
- Learn from the result
- Adjust and try again
- Recognize real progress
Why Parkour?
Parkour combines jumping, climbing, balancing, vaulting, and landing. Coaches teach those movements through progressions, so students also learn how to handle fear, missed attempts, and the work it takes to improve.
Build Confidence
Students build confidence by working through a skill. When they land something that once felt out of reach, they have something concrete to look back on.
Learn to Fail Well
A missed attempt gives the student and coach useful information. They can see what happened, adjust the approach, and try again.
Grow Through Progressive Challenge
Coaches adjust skills and obstacles to fit each student’s current ability. The challenge should ask something of them without pushing them toward a skill they are not ready to try.
Develop Full-Body Coordination
Classes include jumping, landing, climbing, vaulting, balancing, rolling, and finding a path through obstacles. Together, those movements develop balance, strength, spatial awareness, and body control.
Experience Movement Differently
Parkour changes how people read the spaces around them. A wall, rail, or platform becomes part of a route they can test, change, and solve in their own way.
Creating Great Impact Moments
We call it a Great Impact Moment when a student surprises themselves. It might be a first safe roll, an independent climb, a new jump, or another try after several misses.
Coaches pay attention to these moments because each one shows the student how far they have come.
“I didn’t think I could do that.”
Seth’s story
How Parkour Changed My Life
I found parkour after years of competitive cross-country and track. Running had taught me discipline and mental toughness, but parkour asked me to work with fear and failure in a new way.
I learned to try before I knew I would succeed, make an adjustment when I missed, and see cities and communities differently. I wanted other people to have that experience. It still shapes how we coach at Swift.
Seth Ruji, owner of Swift Movement
The Story of Swift Movement
Swift started in Cincinnati’s parkour community and grew into a locally owned movement facility with coached programs, events, and a community of its own.
Matt Peveley founded Swift Movement around fitness through movement.
Seth joined Swift and helped establish a dedicated place for parkour and movement training in Cincinnati.
Seth and Nicole took primary ownership and continued building Swift’s coaching systems, programs, events, and community.
How We Put Our Mission Into Practice
You can see the mission in the way coaches teach a skill, adjust a challenge, and support the people in class.
Progressive Coaching
Coaches break a skill into smaller progressions and adjust each step to the student in front of them.
Beginner Through Advanced Training
People start at different points. Swift works with first-time students and recreational athletes as well as developing and advanced practitioners.
A Purpose-Built Environment
Inside the gym, coaches can change the height, distance, surface, or progression to make a challenge appropriate for the student.
Swift Level Up
Swift Level Up gives students a clear way to see what they have learned and what they can work on next.
Community
Students train side by side, share what they know, and celebrate one another’s progress. Classes bring together people with different backgrounds and skill levels.

Who Is Parkour For?
Swift runs beginner parkour classes in Cincinnati for kids, teens, and adults. Coaches scale the challenge to the student, so everyone has a place to begin.
Is parkour good for kids?
Kids parkour gives students a coached place to practice coordination, confidence, and problem-solving. The activities are age appropriate, and students learn how to stay with a challenge.
Can adults learn parkour?
Yes. Adults can start without previous parkour or gymnastics experience. The coach adjusts the movement to fit the person’s current ability.
Do you need to be athletic to start parkour?
No. Beginner classes start with foundational movements and add difficulty at a pace that makes sense for the student.
Is parkour just jumping and flips?
No. Parkour includes landing, climbing, vaulting, balancing, rolling, navigating environments, and creative problem-solving. Flips may be part of some programs, but they are not required.
How does Swift approach fear and challenge?
Coaches use progressive challenge. They ask students to move beyond what already feels easy, but they do not push someone toward a skill they are not prepared to attempt.
Impact and community
Movement Is Better Together
Beginners and experienced athletes share the same space at Swift. They train, encourage one another, and take part in Cincinnati’s wider parkour community.
Our long-term vision
Swift’s long-term goal is to positively impact 100,000 people through movement. We see that impact when someone learns a skill, handles a challenge differently, or finds a community here.
